IARI Young Professional-II Recruitment 2026: Overview

ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi, is hiring a Young Professional-II for its Division of Biochemistry. The post sits in the Global Centre of Excellence (GCoE) on Millets project, code 12-258 TG3361. Selection is through an in-person walk-in interview, so there is no online form to fill.

The project studies pearl millet genotypes using omics tools. The team wants to understand why pearl millet flour turns rancid, and to develop nutrient-rich processed products with better bioavailability and a longer shelf life. If you hold an M.Sc. in a plant science subject and want hands-on lab work on a national millet programme, this post fits you well.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract tied to the project: The post is purely temporary and ends with the project. The GCoE on Millets project is currently approved up to 31 March 2027, and IARI expects it to be extended.
• Extensions: Your contract can be renewed from time to time based on your performance, but never beyond the life of the project.
• No regular job claim: You cannot claim a permanent appointment at IARI after the project ends.
• Working candidates: If you are employed now, bring a No Objection Certificate from your current employer.
• Relatives at ICAR/IARI: You must declare in writing any relative who works at ICAR or IARI, with their name, designation, duties and relationship. Candidates who hide this are not allowed to appear.
• Essential qualification only: Only candidates who hold the essential qualification will be interviewed.
• No travel allowance: IARI pays no TA/DA for attending the interview.
• Joining: The selected candidate must show all original documents and a medical certificate at the time of joining.
• Institute's right: IARI may choose not to select anyone or cancel the post even after the interview.
