Sambalpur University Anthropology Guest Faculty Recruitment 2026

Sambalpur University, P.G. Department of Anthropology, has invited eligible candidates for a Walk-In Interview for engagement of Guest Faculty at the post graduate level. This walk-in is being held under University Advt. No. 2229/Section-8/Estt-III dated 07.05.2026. There is no written exam - selection is based purely on document verification and interview performance. Candidates from social-cultural, biological, linguistic, archaeological, or applied anthropology specialisations can apply.

Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: You must have a Master's degree (M.A. or M.Sc.) in Anthropology from a recognised university.
  • NET / SLET: You should have qualified UGC NET, JRF or SLET in Anthropology. Candidates with a Ph.D. in Anthropology may be exempted from NET as per UGC norms.
  • Preferred: Ph.D. in Anthropology, teaching experience at PG level, and research publications in national or international journals.
  • Specialisation: Social-Cultural, Biological, Linguistic, Archaeological, or Applied Anthropology.

Salary

  • You will be paid as per UGC norms for Guest Faculty engagement at the post graduate level.
  • The pay is based on a per-lecture or consolidated monthly basis as decided by the university.
  • No TA or DA will be paid for attending the interview.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

The selection will be done in two stages:

  1. Document Verification: You must report at the venue at least one hour before the scheduled interview with originals and one set of self-attested photocopies.
  2. Walk-In Interview: The Selection Committee of the P.G. Department of Anthropology will conduct the interview. The decision of the committee shall be final.

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

Master's degree (M.A. / M.Sc.) in Anthropology with UGC NET / SLET, or Ph.D. in Anthropology

Preferred Qualification

Ph.D. in Anthropology with teaching experience and research publications

Required Skills

Subject knowledge in Anthropology (Social-Cultural / Biological / Linguistic / Archaeological / Applied), classroom teaching, research orientation, communication
