The Principal, Sainik School Goalpara (Assam) has released Advertisement No. SSG/01/2026 (dated 20 May 2026) inviting applications from eligible Indian citizens for 17 academic and administrative vacancies (both regular and contractual). The contractual posts are for a period of 3 years. This is a chance to work in a top residential public school with free accommodation and food in the cadets' mess. Who Can Apply?

PGT (Computer Science) — Rs. 47,600 (Level 8)

• M.Sc (Computer Science/IT)/MCA OR M.E./M.Tech (Computer Science/IT) with at least 50% marks, AND B.Ed from an NCTE-recognised institution with 50% marks.

TGT (English) — Rs. 44,900 (Level 7)

• Four-year integrated degree OR Bachelor/Honours degree with 50% marks in the subject plus B.Ed, AND qualified in CTET/STET.

School Medical Officer (SMO) — Rs. 80,000/month

• MBBS degree from a recognised institution. Pediatric specialisation and experience as a medical practitioner are desirable.

PGT (Mathematics / Physics) — Rs. 57,120/month

• Integrated Post Graduate course OR Master's degree (50% marks) in the subject, AND B.Ed from an NCTE-recognised institution with 50% marks.

TGT (Computer Science) — Rs. 53,880/month

• BCA OR Graduation in Computer Science/IT OR BE/B.Tech (CS/IT) with 50% marks, plus B.Ed, AND qualified in CTET/STET.

School Counsellor — Rs. 53,880/month

• Graduation/Post Graduation in Psychology OR PG in Child Development OR a degree with Diploma in Career Guidance and Counselling/Child Development.

Librarian — Rs. 53,880/month

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science (or Library & Information Science) with 50% marks and ability to converse fluently in English.

Craft & Workshop Instructor / Band Master — Rs. 40,880/month

• Craft & Workshop Instructor: Matriculation plus a 2-year ITI trade certificate (Painting/Fine Arts) and ability to teach in English.
• Band Master: Band Master/Band Major/Drum Major course from AEC Training College Pachmarhi OR equivalent Naval/Air Force course.

Lab Assistant (Physics / Chemistry / Biology) — Rs. 30,600/month

• Intermediate (12th) in Science or equivalent. A science graduate degree is desirable.

Mess Manager — Rs. 40,880/month

• Matriculation plus a Diploma/Degree in catering, with at least 5 years' experience running a catering organisation, and ability to maintain mess accounts and use a computer.

Matron (Female) / Ward Boy — Rs. 21,600/month

• Matriculation or equivalent, with ability to converse fluently in English. A graduate degree and experience handling children are desirable.

Age Limit

• PGT (Computer Science): between 21 and 40 years as on 01 June 2026.
• TGT (English): between 21 and 35 years as on 01 June 2026.
• PGT (Mathematics/Physics), TGT (Computer Science), School Counsellor: between 21 and 50 years as on 01 June 2026.
• SMO, Librarian, Craft & Workshop Instructor, Band Master, Lab Assistants, Mess Manager, Matron, Ward Boy: between 18 and 50 years as on 01 June 2026.

Salary

• School Medical Officer: Rs. 80,000 per month (consolidated)
• PGT (Mathematics/Physics): Rs. 57,120 per month
• TGT (Computer Science) / School Counsellor / Librarian: Rs. 53,880 per month
• PGT (Computer Science) (Regular): Rs. 47,600 per month (Level 8)
• TGT (English) (Regular): Rs. 44,900 per month (Level 7)
• Craft & Workshop Instructor / Band Master / Mess Manager: Rs. 40,880 per month
• Lab Assistants: Rs. 30,600 per month
• Matron / Ward Boy: Rs. 21,600 per month
• Regular posts also get LTC, NPS, Gratuity and other perks as per Sainik Schools Society Rules. Free accommodation and mess food are provided for all posts.

Selection Process

Selection is done through:

1. Written Test
2. Demonstration / Skill Test (as applicable)
3. Interview (as applicable)

Only shortlisted applicants are called for the selection process. The date of interview will be intimated by email. No TA/DA is paid for the interview.
