Sports Authority of India (SAI), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, works on sports development, athlete training, and national sports infrastructure across India. This notice is for engagement of retired persons as Dean for SAI centres where sports schemes are implemented. The engagement is for 1 year or until the selected person reaches 65 years of age, whichever comes earlier.

Educational Qualification

Pay and Allowances

• Pay scale reference: Level-13, Rs. 1,23,100 to Rs. 2,15,900 (PB-4 with Grade Pay Rs. 8,700).
• Fixed monthly pay: The payable amount will be calculated as Last Pay Drawn minus Pension.
• No increment or DA: The fixed monthly amount will stay unchanged during the contract period, and no annual increment or Dearness Allowance is allowed.
• Transport allowance: SAI mentions Rs. 5,580 or Rs. 11,160 per month, depending on place of posting.
• Other benefits: The notice says no HRA, accommodation, residential phone, medical reimbursement, LTC, or similar facilities will be admissible.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

SAI will shortlist applicants based on eligibility, relevant experience, and job requirement. The final selection will be based on the recommendation of the duly appointed Selection/Interview Committee.

Important Conditions

• Posting: The place of posting can be on an all-India basis at centres where SAI schemes are implemented.
• Leave: The selected person will get 1.5 days leave per month on a pro-rata basis in a calendar year.
• Notice: If performance is not satisfactory, SAI can discontinue the service after 15 days notice. If the selected person wants to leave, 30 days advance notice or one month pay in place of notice is required.
• Confidentiality: The selected person must protect athlete data, coaching data, performance analysis, business information, and other confidential SAI information.
• Conduct: The selected person must follow CCS Conduct Rules, 1964 and maintain office decorum during the engagement.
