Rajendra University, Balangir has released Advertisement No. 1117/RUB dated 19 May 2026 for Assistant Professor posts in teaching departments. This is a state university recruitment under the Higher Education Department, Government of Odisha, and the university will follow UGC Regulations 2018 and later amendments. Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

• Master's degree: You need at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade in the relevant, concerned, or allied subject.
• NET/SLET/SET: You must have cleared NET conducted by UGC or CSIR, or a similar accredited test such as SLET/SET.
• Ph.D. exemption: If you have a Ph.D. under UGC 2009 or 2016 rules, or a qualifying Ph.D. from a top 500 foreign university, you may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET.
• Relaxed marks: SC, ST, OBC non-creamy layer, differently-abled categories, and some older Ph.D. degree holders can get 5% relaxation as stated in UGC rules.

Department Choice

• Separate application: If you want to apply for more than one department, you need to submit a separate application and pay the fee for each post.
• Documents: Upload clear supporting documents in PDF or image format and send self-attested hard copies by post.

Age Limit

• You should not be above 60 years for this recruitment.
• Service condition: The university states the present superannuation age is 60 years.
• Reservation certificates: SC, ST and SEBC certificates must be issued by the competent authority of the Government of Odisha. SEBC non-creamy layer certificate should not be older than 6 months.

Salary

• Assistant Professor posts are under Pay Level 10 as per the 7th CPC.
• The usual Level 10 pay range is Rs. 57,700 to Rs. 1,82,400 per month.

Selection Process (Shortlisting and Interview)

Rajendra University will use the UGC Table 3-A academic score for shortlisting applicants for interview.

1. Application Scrutiny: The university checks qualification, category, fee, and uploaded documents.
2. Academic Score Shortlisting: Graduation, post-graduation, M.Phil, Ph.D., NET/JRF/SET/SLET, research publications, teaching/post-doctoral experience and awards can be counted for a total of 100 marks.
3. Document Verification: Original certificates and mark sheets must be produced at the time of interview.
4. Interview: Final selection is based on the performance in the interview as per the notification and UGC rules.
