National e-Governance Division (NeGD) Director Recruitment 2026 - 2 Posts

NeGD, a division under Digital India Corporation and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, supports programme management for the Digital India Programme. This circular dated 27 May 2026 is for filling Director-level positions on deputation. The role is meant for senior government-sector officers who can lead e-Governance projects, project budgets, technical architecture, system integration, API strategy and cybersecurity work.

Experience Needed

  • Experience in handling end-to-end project lifecycle work from concept and design to execution, monitoring and closure.
  • Experience in managing project/programme budgets.
  • Experience in managing and using resources across projects.
  • Knowledge of Government of India rules, regulations and state government policies.
  • Experience giving technical guidance on software architecture, system integration, APIs and cybersecurity strategies.

Age Limit

  • For Level 14 post: Maximum age should not exceed 58 years on the closing date.
  • For posts below Level 14: Maximum age should not exceed 56 years on the closing date.
  • Age reference date: The closing date is 24 June 2026.

Salary

  • Pay will be regulated under DoP&T deputation pay rules, including OM No. 6/8/2009-Estt.(Pay-II) dated 17 June 2010 and OM No. 2/11/2017-Estt.(Pay-II) dated 24 November 2017, as amended.
  • The pay will be commensurate with the actual pay level currently drawn by the applicant.
  • Selected officers will also get perquisites as per NeGD norms for deputationists.
  • Facilities may include medical reimbursement, leased accommodation, vehicle/conveyance facility, annual LTA option and IT equipment allowance as per level.
