Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical)

  • Qualification: First Class postgraduate degree, including integrated PG degree, in Life Sciences, Environmental Science, Zoology, Biotechnology, Biosciences, or any field of Life Sciences.
  • Desirable skills: Hands-on work in PCR, qRT-PCR, RNA/DNA isolation, protein analysis, Western blot, ELISA, experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation.

Project Technical Support-III

  • Qualification option 1: Three-year graduate degree in a relevant subject or field with 3 years post-qualification experience.
  • Qualification option 2: Postgraduate degree in a relevant subject or field.
  • Desirable skills: Laboratory techniques, sample processing, and handling research data.

Project Technical Support-II

  • Qualification option 1: 12th in Science with Diploma in MLT, DMLT, Engineering, or equivalent, plus 5 years experience in the relevant subject or field.
  • Qualification option 2: Three-year graduate degree in a relevant subject or field with 2 years experience.
  • Desirable skills: Basic laboratory techniques, reagent preparation, biosafety practices, sterilization, centrifuge, micropipettes, biosafety cabinet, incubator, SOPs, logs, and inventory work.

Age Limit

  • Project Research Scientist-I: Upper age limit is 35 years.
  • Project Technical Support-III: Upper age limit is 35 years.
  • Project Technical Support-II: Upper age limit is 30 years.

Salary

  • Project Research Scientist-I: Rs. 56,000 per month + HRA.
  • Project Technical Support-III: Rs. 28,000 per month + HRA.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct project work related to oral microbiota, genetic polymorphisms, and oral cancer research
  • Handle laboratory techniques such as PCR, qRT-PCR, RNA/DNA isolation, and protein analysis where assigned
  • Process biological samples and follow biosafety practices inside the laboratory
  • Prepare reagents, use lab equipment, and maintain SOPs, logs, and inventory records
  • Collect, organise, and analyse research data for the ICMR-funded project
  • Maintain accurate documentation for experiments, sample handling, and project progress
  • Assist the Principal Investigator with reports, data interpretation, and project coordination
  • Follow university and ICMR rules during temporary project appointment

Minimum Qualification

12th Science + Diploma with relevant experience for Project Technical Support-II; graduate/PG routes for Technical Support-III; First Class PG degree for Project Research Scientist-I
