ICAR-National Research Centre on Mithun (ICAR-NRCM) is a premier research institute under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) focused on the conservation and improvement of Mithun (Bos frontalis), the State Animal of Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh. The Centre has invited walk-in interview for engagement under National One Health Mission (NOHM), FMD Network Project, NICRA Project at KVK Phek and other in-house sections. All positions are purely on contractual basis for one year, extendable for another year or till project completion, except YP-II under NICRA Project which is only up to 30 September 2026.

Who Can Apply?

1. Project Research Scientist-II (Non-Medical) — NOHM Project

• Essential: Master's in Biotechnology or Life Sciences (including integrated PG) with 3 years post-qualification experience OR Ph.D in Biotechnology or Life Sciences.
• Desirable: 2+ years research experience on animal health or One Health, work on epidemiological studies of zoonotic parasites/microbes, molecular/serology-based assays, statistical analysis skills.

2. Project Technical Support-III — NOHM Project

• Essential: Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences + 3 years experience OR Master's in Life Sciences.
• Desirable: Experience working with animals. Computer skill is mandatory.

3. YP-II under AP&R Section

• Essential: B.V.Sc. degree in Veterinary Sciences.
• Desirable: M.V.Sc. in Veterinary/Animal Sciences, experience handling large animals, lab procedure experience.

4. YP-II under FMD Network Project

• Essential: B.V.Sc. or Master's in Life Science/Zoology/Biotechnology/Microbiology or equivalent.
• Desirable: Experience handling large animals, blood collection, ability to travel to remote places. Lab techniques in microbiology, serology and molecular biology preferred.

5. YP-II under ICAR-NRCM Porba

• Essential: B.V.Sc. or Master's in Animal Science.
• Desirable: Minimum 2 years experience handling large animals.

6. YP-I under Establishment/Works Section

• Essential: Graduate in any discipline / Computer Science / Computer Application with minimum 1 year experience in relevant field.
• Desirable: Knowledge of e-Office, e-HRMS and SPARROW systems.

7. YP-II under NICRA Project at KVK Phek

• Essential: Master's in Agriculture/Horticulture/Animal Science/Agronomy/Soil Science/Soil and Water Conservation.
• Desirable: 2 years field experience, data analysis using SPSS/SAS/NTSYS or similar.

Age Limit

• Project Research Scientist-II: Maximum 40 years (relaxation as per ICAR rules)
• Project Technical Support-III: Maximum 35 years (relaxation as per ICAR rules)
• YP-I and YP-II posts: 21 to 45 years (relaxation as per ICAR rules)
• Age relaxation applies for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD as per Government of India norms.

Salary

• Project Research Scientist-II: Rs. 67,000 per month + HRA
• Project Technical Support-III: Rs. 28,000 per month + HRA
• YP-II (all four positions): Rs. 42,000 per month (consolidated)
• YP-I: Rs. 30,000 per month (consolidated)
• YPs are eligible for 8 days leave in a calendar year on pro-rata basis and 2 restricted holidays.

Selection Process

Selection is through a walk-in interview only — there is no written exam.

1. Walk-in Interview: Be present at ICAR-NRC on Mithun, Medziphema, Nagaland on 9 June 2026 by 9:30 AM (30 minutes before the 10:00 AM start) for verification formalities.
2. Document Verification: Bring all original documents along with self-attested photocopies.
3. Interview Round: Subject-matter interview based on the post applied for.
4. Final Selection: Based on interview performance and document verification.

Candidates arriving after the specified time will not be entertained. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
