Who Can Apply?

Upper Division Clerk

• Qualification: You need a degree from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification.
• Computer Knowledge: You need working knowledge of computer use, including office suites and databases.

Stenographer

• Qualification: You need 12th class or an equivalent qualification from a recognised board or university.
• Skill Test: Dictation is 10 minutes at 80 wpm, followed by transcription of 50 minutes in English or 65 minutes in Hindi on computer.

Junior Engineer Civil and Electrical

• JE Civil: Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised university or institute.
• JE Electrical: Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognised university or institute.

Social Security Officer

• Qualification: You need a degree from a recognised university. Graduates in commerce, law, or management get preference.
• Experience: The notification mentions 3 years service in a government organisation, corporation, government undertaking, local body, or scheduled bank.
• Computer Knowledge: Working knowledge of office suites and databases is desirable.

Age Limit

• UDC and Stenographer: 18 to 27 years.
• Junior Engineer Civil/Electrical: Not exceeding 30 years.
• Social Security Officer: 21 to 27 years, with relaxation as per rules.
• Age Reference Date: Age is counted as on the online registration closing date, 03 July 2026.
• Relaxation: SC/ST get 5 years, OBC get 3 years, PwBD get 10 years, and ex-servicemen get military service plus 3 years as per the notification.

Salary

• UDC and Stenographer: Pay Level 4, generally Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100 per month.
• Junior Engineer Civil/Electrical: Pay Level 6, generally Rs. 35,400 to Rs. 1,12,400 per month.
• Social Security Officer: Pay Level 7, generally Rs. 44,900 to Rs. 1,42,400 per month.
• Allowances: Selected candidates get usual allowances as applicable to the respective ESIC post and rules.

Application Fee

• General / OBC: Rs. 3,000 per group.
• SC / ST / EWS: Rs. 2,400 per group.
• PwBD: No fee.
• Payment Mode: Debit card, credit card, or net banking.
• Multiple Groups: If you apply for more than one CRE-5 group, you must submit a separate application and fee for each group.

Selection Process

Selection begins with the CRE-5 Computer Based Test. Post-wise skill tests apply after CBT for roles such as UDC and Stenographer.

1. Computer Based Test: 100 MCQs for 400 marks in 90 minutes.
2. Skill Test: UDC needs typing/writing skill test as notified for the group, and Stenographer needs dictation and transcription test.
3. Choice and Preference: Qualified candidates may be asked to fill ESIC/post preferences later.
4. Document Verification: ESIC and the concerned authority will check qualification, age, category, experience, NOC, and other certificates before appointment.
