The Office of the District School Education Officer, East Garo Hills (Government of Meghalaya) has invited applications from interested and eligible candidates who are citizens of India for the post of Assistant Lecturer. The vacancies are spread across two government higher secondary schools - Williamnagar Govt. Higher Secondary School and Rongrenggiri Govt. Higher Secondary School - covering four subjects: Garo MIL, English, Economics, and History. There is no written exam - selection is interview-based. Postgraduates with a B.Ed degree can apply directly by submitting a standard form application.

Only the Garo (MIL) post is a sanctioned regular post with full salary. The other four are non-sanction posts with a fixed lower honorarium.

Who Can Apply?

For Assistant Lecturer in Garo (MIL):

• Qualification: Master's Degree in Garo with B.Ed

For Assistant Lecturer in English (both shifts):

• Qualification: Master's Degree in English with B.Ed

For Assistant Lecturer in Economics:

• Qualification: Master's Degree in Economics with B.Ed

For Assistant Lecturer in History:

• Qualification: Master's Degree in History with B.Ed

Other Requirements

• You must be a citizen of India.
• You need to submit photocopies of all relevant documents along with two copies of passport size photographs, phone number and email address in the application form.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 32 years old as on 1 January 2026.
• Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

Salary

• Assistant Lecturer in Garo (MIL): Rs. 40,000 per month (Sanction Post)
• Assistant Lecturer in English / Economics / History: Rs. 15,000 per month (Non-Sanction Post)

Selection Process

Selection is purely interview-based. There is no written exam.
