DRDO ARDE Paid Internship Recruitment 2026 - 40 Seats

Armament Research and Development Establishment (ARDE) is a DRDO laboratory under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. ARDE works on armament systems for the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force, including research, design, development, testing, evaluation, technology transfer, and production support. This internship is a 6-month project-work opportunity for eligible engineering students, not a regular job appointment.

Who Can Apply?

• Course requirement: You must be a regular student pursuing BE/B.Tech in 7th or 8th semester or M.Tech in 1st or 2nd year.
• Institution requirement: Your institute must be an AICTE approved technical institution or a UGC approved university.
• Academic record: You need at least 75% marks or 7.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale.
• CGPA continuity: You should have maintained at least 7.5 CGPA throughout previous semesters.
• Nationality: Only Indian nationals can apply.
• Backlogs: Students with backlogs are not eligible.
• Other stipend: Students receiving another stipend from any institute are not eligible.

Important Conditions

• Project location: All seats are for internship or project work at ARDE, Pashan, Pune - 411021.
• Branch match: You should apply only for the branch code that matches your exact engineering discipline. The notice says equivalent or related branches will not be considered.
• College route: Your Principal or Director must provide the request letter or No Objection Certificate for the internship.
• No job claim: Completion of this internship does not create any right to employment in ARDE or DRDO.
• Completion certificate: You will get the certificate only after successful completion of internship training and submission of the assigned project report.

Age Limit

• You must be below 28 years as on 20 June 2026.

Stipend

• Monthly stipend: Rs. 5,000 per month.
• Total duration: 6 months.
• Payment method: The stipend will be paid in two slabs of Rs. 15,000 each for 3-month periods.
• Attendance condition: You need to complete at least 15 working days per month of internship training to receive stipend payment.
• Boarding and lodging: No boarding, lodging, or transport expenses are paid by ARDE.

Application Fee

• No fee: There is no application fee at the time of applying.
• No later fee: The notice also says no fee is charged at any stage of the internship programme.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is done entirely on merit.

1. Academic Screening: ARDE checks your marks, CGPA, discipline, semester/year, and institute approval.
2. Shortlisting: Shortlisted students are informed through their email ID along with joining instructions.
3. Document Verification: Your application, NOC, undertaking, marksheets, ID proof, Aadhaar, and college documents are checked.
4. Joining Formalities: Selected students must submit police verification and medical fitness certificate at the time of joining.

How to Apply

1. Download the advertisement and formats from drdo.gov.in under the Skill-Seeker / Vacancies section.
2. Fill Appendix A application form and attach a recent passport-size photograph.
3. Get the institute request letter or NOC in Appendix B from your Principal or Director.
4. Fill the undertaking form in Appendix C.
5. Attach all semester marksheets, bonafide and character certificate, Aadhaar copy, college ID copy, biodata up to 300 words, and awards or certificates if any.
6. Send the complete application by Speed Post, Courier, or Registered Post to The Director, HRD Division, Armament Research and Development Establishment, Dr. Homi Bhabha Road, Pashan, Pune - 411021.
7. Write Application for Paid Internship and the branch code clearly on the envelope.

Important Application Notes

• Late or incomplete forms: ARDE will reject late, incomplete, or incorrect applications, so check every enclosure before posting.
• Email intimation: If shortlisted, you will receive joining instructions through the email ID provided in your application.
• Canteen facility: Selected interns may use the ARDE wet canteen for lunch, tea, and snacks on payment basis.
• Project report: You must submit a project report for the work assigned during the internship to receive completion certification.
