Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), a joint venture of the Government of India and Government of Karnataka, has issued Notification No. BMRCL/HR/0002/PRJ/2026 dated 08 June 2026 for Deputy Chief Engineer (Lift and Escalator). The opening is in the System Department on contract or deputation basis. This is a specialist metro rail engineering role for professionals who have handled lift and escalator erection, testing, commissioning, tendering, and statutory clearances.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

• Qualification: You need B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
• Experience: You need at least 14 years of post-qualification experience.
• Sector exposure: Experience should be in Railways, Railway PSUs, CPWD, large infrastructure companies, metro rail corporations, RRTS, or organisations implementing railway/metro projects.

Special Lift and Escalator Experience

• You must have at least 5 years of experience in lift and escalator erection, testing, and commissioning work.
• You should have hands-on exposure to tender documents, tender evaluation, and contract management for lifts and escalators.
• Experience in working with statutory authorities for CEIG licence and other clearances is important.
• Kannada knowledge is essential as mentioned in the notification.
• Project exposure: Hands-on experience in metro rail or RRTS projects is preferred because the post deals with passenger-facing lift and escalator systems.
• Not eligible: Internal BMRCL contract or outsource employees are not allowed to apply for this notified post.

Age Limit

• Contract applicants: Maximum age is 45 years as on the notification date.
• Deputation applicants: Maximum age is 56 years as on the notification date.
• Possible relaxation: If enough suitable applicants are not available, age relaxation up to 62 years may be considered with approval of the competent authority.

Salary

• Contract pay: Rs. 1,64,000 per month consolidated pay.
• Allowances: Conveyance allowance, GMC, GPA, NPS, and other applicable allowances and perks as per BMRCL rules.
• Deputation pay: Deputation applicants draw parent pay and applicable allowances as per company rules.
• Contract period: The appointment is initially for 1 to 3 years and may be extended based on performance and requirement.
• Notice period: The contract may be ended by either side by giving 1 to 3 months' notice or by paying salary in lieu of notice, as per the notification conditions.
