The Andhra Pradesh Medical Services Recruitment Board (APMSRB) is hiring 8 Assistant Professors on a regular (permanent) basis at Government Medical College, Piduguralla, Palnadu District. If you have a PG Degree (MD/MS/DNB) in the concerned specialty, you can attend the walk-in recruitment on 2 June 2026. The pay scale is Rs. 68,900 to Rs. 2,05,500 with a 50% incentive on basic pay. Age limit is 18 to 42 years as on 1 July 2025.

APMSRB has released Notification No. 08/2026 to fill 8 Assistant Professor posts in six departments at Government Medical College, Piduguralla. These are direct recruitment posts on a regular basis covering Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Community Medicine, and DVL (Dermatology, Venereology and Leprosy). There is no written exam — selection is purely on a 100-point merit basis. Doctors with an MD/MS/DNB qualification and one year of Senior Residency can apply.

The vacancies are tentative and may increase or decrease. They include both backlog and regular roster points across various categories.

Who Can Apply?

For Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology & Microbiology

• PG Degree: You need an MD/MS/DNB in the concerned specialty from an institution recognised by MCI/NMC.
• Senior Residency: You must have completed one year of Senior Residency after your PG qualification. If your DNB is from an institution with less than 500 beds, you need one extra year of Senior Residency.
• If MD/MS/DNB candidates are not available: candidates with an M.Sc (Medical) plus Ph.D (Medical) in the concerned specialty through a regular in-campus course may be considered, along with one year of Senior Residency / Demonstrator / Tutor experience.
• For Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology and Microbiology, non-medical teachers may be appointed up to 30% of the total posts in that department if medical teachers are not available.

For DVL & Community Medicine

• PG Degree: You need an MD/MS/DNB in the concerned specialty from an institution recognised by MCI/NMC.
• Senior Residency: You must have completed one year of Senior Residency after your qualification. DNB holders from institutions with less than 500 beds need one extra year.

In-service candidates working as Civil Assistant Surgeons, Civil Assistant Surgeon Specialists, and Tutors under DPH&FW, DSH, DME and other government bodies can also apply, with a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their Head of Department.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 42 years old as on 1 July 2025.
• No person below 18 years or above 42 years is eligible.
• Age relaxation applies for reserved categories as per Andhra Pradesh Government rules.

Salary

• Pay scale of Rs. 68,900 to Rs. 2,05,500 as per G.O. Ms. No.22, HM&FW (A1) Department.
• Teaching posts at GMC Piduguralla get a 50% incentive on basic pay.
• You will also get other pay and allowances admissible under the 7th UGC Pay Scales.

Application Fee

• OC (General): Rs. 2,000
• SC / ST / BC / EWS / Differently abled / Ex-Servicemen: Rs. 1,800
• Payment mode: Online only, at the time of walk-in recruitment.
• The fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on a 100-point merit system:

1. Qualifying Exam Marks (75 points): Up to 75 points for the percentage of marks in your qualifying exam (CGPA/Grade Points are converted to percentage as per the government circular).
2. Service after PG (up to 10 points): Awarded for each completed year of service after your MD/MS/DNB and Ph.D.
3. Central Institution Bonus (5 marks): Extra weightage if you completed your PG (MD/MS/DNB) from a Central Institution.
4. Contract Service Weightage (up to 15 points): Based on contract service in Tribal (2.5 marks per 6 months), Rural (2.0), or Urban (1.0) areas, plus COVID-19 duty weightage (5 marks per 6 months).
5. Certificate Verification at the walk-in.

If you fail to submit your PG (MD/MS/DNB) marks memos, or Ph.D marks memos for M.Sc holders, your marks will be treated as Zero and you will be considered NOT ELIGIBLE.

How to Apply

1. Attend the walk-in recruitment on 2 June 2026 from 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM.
2. Venue: O/o Director of Medical Education, Old Govt. Hospital, Hanumanpet, Vijayawada.
3. Pay the application fee online at the time of the walk-in.
4. Carry all original certificates with photocopies, including Aadhaar, SSC certificate, study/bonafide certificate (4th to 10th class), social status certificate, MBBS provisional certificate, PG degree provisional and marks memo, Senior Residency certificate, and AP Medical Council registration.
5. In-service CAS/CASS/Tutor candidates must bring an NOC from their HOD.
