High Court of Judicature at Allahabad has released Advertisement No. 01/Research Associates/2026 for contractual Research Associate engagement during 2026-27. The notification says the engagement will be for one year and may be extended up to a maximum of three years based on satisfactory performance. Who Can Apply?

Law Degree Requirement

  • Qualification: You need a 5-year or 3-year LL.B. degree from a law college or university recognised by the Bar Council of India.
  • Allowed batches: Law graduates from academic sessions 2026, 2025 and 2024 can apply.
  • Marks requirement: You must have scored at least 55% marks in the LL.B. examination. No rounding off is allowed.

  • Previous engagement: Anyone who has already worked as a Research Associate with the High Court cannot apply again.

Age Limit

  • You must have completed 21 years of age as on 1 July 2026.
  • You must not have completed 26 years of age as on 1 July 2026.

Salary

  • Selected Research Associates will get a fixed honorarium of Rs. 40,000 per month.

Selection Process

The full selection process carries 100 marks and is completed in three main steps:

  1. Weightage Marks (20 marks): Marks are given for Hindi and English language performance at Class 10 or 12 level, LL.B. academic performance and co-curricular activities such as moot court participation or legal paper publication.
  2. Screening Test (60 marks): The test is a descriptive paper of one hour. The notification says it may be held at Prayagraj.
  3. Interview (20 marks): Interview marks are used with the weightage marks and screening test marks for final merit.

  7. Pay the Rs. 500 fee online through the payment page.
  8. Update the transaction reference number and payment date by 23 June 2026.
  9. Download and preserve the completely filled application form for future use.

  • Assist with academic papers and court-related legal research work
  • Follow attendance, leave and conduct rules prescribed by the High Court

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

3-year or 5-year LL.B. from a Bar Council of India recognised law college or university with at least 55% marks

Preferred Qualification

Higher marks in LL.B., strong Hindi/English language score, moot court participation or legal paper publication
