IITH Junior Technical Assistant Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH) is hiring a Junior Technical Assistant for its CLEANZ (Clean Coal Energy and Net Zero) centre at the Kandi campus in Sangareddy, Telangana. CLEANZ runs experimental energy research — furnaces, reactors, gas lines and high-pressure rigs — and this post keeps that equipment running for the researchers. It is a temporary, project-based contract of 11 months, extendable on performance and project need.

This is a hands-on technician's job, not a desk role. It suits an ITI-trained electrician or similar tradesperson with several years of plant or lab maintenance behind them who wants to work inside a research institute. Where you land in the pay band depends on your qualification and experience.

• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and experimental setups for CLEANZ projects
• Help researchers install, commission and dismantle experimental rigs and test setups
• Carry out preventive maintenance and minor repairs of electrical, mechanical and instrumentation systems
• Keep maintenance logs and equipment usage records
• Enforce laboratory safety norms and manage gas cylinders, tools and consumables
• Maintain stock records of spares and consumables
• Coordinate with the PI, Stores and Purchase section and vendors for repairs, servicing and spare parts
