CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory (CSIR-NCL), Pune is looking for a Project Associate-I for its Physical and Materials Chemistry (PMC) Division. The post sits under the sponsored project "Computational Design of New Catalysts that Can Display Better Comonomer Incorporation (Phase-I)", project code SSP306626. In simple terms, the project uses computer modelling to design catalysts that bring a second building block (a comonomer) into a polymer chain more effectively.

This is a temporary project position, not a regular CSIR job. It suits a chemistry, pharmacy or engineering graduate who enjoys theory and simulation more than bench work.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The engagement lasts only as long as the sponsored project, and continues only while your performance and conduct are satisfactory.
• No claim on CSIR posts: This is not a CSIR or NCL appointment, temporary or otherwise, and it gives you no right to be considered for any CSIR-NCL post or fellowship later.
• Higher pay band: The higher of the two pay rates is for candidates who have cleared CSIR-UGC / ICAR / ICMR NET (including lectureship or assistant professorship), GATE, or a national-level exam run by central departments such as DBT or DST.
• Shortlisting: Meeting the minimum qualification does not guarantee an interview call. If many people apply, a Screening Committee may call only those with qualifications and experience beyond the minimum, so list everything relevant in your form.
• Joining: You must join immediately once you receive the offer, and no TA/DA is paid for the interview.
