Who Can Apply

For Senior Research Fellow (SRF):

• You need an MTech or PhD in a relevant field such as EE, ECE, CS, AI, or Data Science
• A valid GATE score is preferred
• Hands-on experience with wireless systems, optical communications, or machine learning is a strong advantage

Both positions are part of a research project titled "Enabling Next-Generation Last-Meter Connectivity" funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF). The Principal Investigator is Prof. Vimal Bhatia from the Electrical Engineering department.

Salary Details

Here is the important part — what you will actually earn. The salary follows ANRF (Anusandhan National Research Foundation) fellowship norms.

The base fellowship of Rs. 37,000 (JRF) and Rs. 42,000 (SRF) is paid as per ANRF norms. HRA is paid on top of this based on the city category of the host institution. IIT Indore is located in Indore, which typically qualifies for a reasonable HRA rate. Your actual take-home will depend on applicable deductions, if any.

Selection Process

The selection for JRF and SRF at IIT Indore is straightforward — there is no written exam. Here is how it works:

About the Research Project

This position is part of an ANRF-funded research project called "Enabling Next-Generation Last-Meter Connectivity." The project focuses on advanced wireless and optical communication systems — technologies that will power the next generation of internet connectivity in homes and offices.

The contract is initially for 1 year and is extendable until 2030 based on performance and project requirements.
