IIT Indore JRF Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Institute of Technology Indore (IIT Indore) is hiring a Junior Research Fellow for a DRDE-DRDO funded project in the Department of Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science. The study explores MXene materials for breaking down dangerous chemicals and toxic industrial gases. This is a project-based research appointment at the institute in Simrol, Indore.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Appointment duration: The notice gives a term of 30 months. The appointment is linked to the project, so the project ending can also bring the engagement to an end.
• Performance condition: Continuation also depends on your performance. The notice allows the appointment to end if your work is not satisfactory.
• Research travel: You may need to visit RRCAT Indore for synchrotron studies at the Indus beamlines and DRDE Gwalior for detoxification studies. These visits are connected to the project work, beyond the institute laboratory.
• PhD opportunity: The selected fellow will be encouraged to register for a PhD at IIT Indore under institute norms. Joining the project and gaining PhD admission remain subject to the relevant institute rules.
• Fellowship continuation: If you are selected for the PhD programme, the notice provides for fellowship extension through the PhD duration under institute norms.
• Travel reimbursement: No travelling or daily allowance will be paid for appearing in the interview.
