IIT Indore Junior Research Fellow Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Institute of Technology Indore (IIT Indore) is recruiting a Junior Research Fellow for an iron-ore research project in its metallurgy and materials science department. Supported by the Indo-German Science and Technology Centre (IGSTC), the project examines how impurities affect agglomeration and microstructure when low-grade iron ores undergo hydrogen reduction. The appointment is tied to this research project, with Dr. Khushubo Devi as the principal investigator.

The research focuses on hydrogen-based direct reduction of hematite and low-grade iron ores. Its central question is how gangue impurities change the speed of reduction and the final degree of metallization. This gives the fellowship a specific extractive-metallurgy focus within the department.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project tenure: The engagement can last up to 36 months, but ends earlier if the project finishes. Your appointment is temporary and co-terminus with the project.
