OCPL Multi Post Recruitment 2026: Overview
Odisha Coal and Power Limited (OCPL), a Government of Odisha company under the Energy Department, is recruiting through lateral entry for permanent positions. Its work centres on developing and operating coal mines, including the Manoharpur and Dip-Side of Manoharpur blocks in Sundargarh. The operating Manoharpur mine supplies coal to Odisha Power Generation Corporation and other industrial units.
Posts and Disciplines
- Finance: Additional General Manager and Manager positions support the company's finance function.
- Mining: Manager, Deputy Manager, Assistant Manager and Overman positions cover different levels of mine planning and operations.
- Geology and Environment: Separate Deputy Manager positions focus on exploration and environmental compliance.
- Survey: The Senior Assistant Manager/Assistant Manager position supports mine surveys and plans.

Post-wise Duties
Finance positions
You will work on audits, budgets, taxation and financial closure. The senior finance role also calls for leading the finance team and overseeing the department as a whole.
Mining positions
The Manager and Deputy Manager roles involve planning, designing and scheduling opencast coal mines. Assistant Managers need to handle operational and statutory work, while Overmen take charge of working sections during shifts.
Deputy Manager Geology
You will lead exploration planning and grade control, review drilling and sampling, and work with mine planning teams. The role also covers consultants, statutory geological matters and expansion proposals.
Deputy Manager Environment
You will monitor environmental and forest clearance conditions and pollution-control requirements. Keeping statutory records, preparing returns and coordinating compliance are central parts of this work.
Survey positions
You will support mine development surveys, prepare plans and sections, and help mark infrastructure locations. The work includes survey instruments, statutory maps and coordination with drilling agencies.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Probation: You start with at least one year of probation. Absorption into the relevant grade follows successful completion.
- Posting and transfers: OCPL can place you at its establishments anywhere in Odisha, during probation or after absorption. Transfers depend on organisational needs.
- Grade flexibility: The company may offer a position one rank above or below the advertised role, depending on your experience, merit and its requirements.
- Communication: Keep your application email active for one year. Future communication will come through email, so an incorrect address can mean missed updates.
- Travel reimbursement: Interview travel reimbursement follows the grade-specific rail or bus entitlement. The address entered in your application is used for this purpose and cannot later be changed for reimbursement.
- Employer clearance: Internal applicants and applicants from holding companies must use the proper channel. Government and PSU employees should follow the notice's employer-clearance provisions for salary protection.

Manager Mining: 10 years; Deputy Managers Mining, Geology and Environment: 7 years. Survey E-2/E-1 and Medical Officer E-2/E-1: 5/2 years. Assistant Manager Mining: 2 years. Overman S-2/S-1: 1/5 years. Experience is assessed as on 14.10.2026; finance experience must be in a Central/State PSU or leading large private manufacturing organisation, and technical experience must match the role-specific mine operations described in the notice.
