CHS Brahmapur Medical Officer Recruitment 2026: Overview

City Health Society, Brahmapur, which runs the National Urban Health Mission (NUHM) in Brahmapur city of Ganjam district, Odisha, needs an MBBS doctor to run an Urban Ayushman Arogya Mandir (UAAM). The post is funded through PM-ABHIM and NHM grants and is filled on a 12-month contract that can be renewed under the terms of the Odisha State Health and Family Welfare Society (OSH&FW Society).

Selection is through a walk-in interview, so there is no written test. You will run a split-shift OPD — morning and evening — at a neighbourhood health centre, which suits doctors who want a fixed-hours government role in the city. Retired doctors can also apply, because the upper age limit is far higher than usual.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Registration: You must hold a valid registration with the Odisha Council of Medical Registration; candidates without it should not attend the interview.
• Fitness certificate: If you are above 65 years, bring a physical fitness certificate from a government hospital, signed by an officer not below Medical Officer (Junior Class-1) rank.
• Tenure: The post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the scheme. The vacancy count and pay may change at the time of engagement.
• Working hours: OPD runs 8 AM to 11 AM and 5 PM to 8 PM (six hours a day). Attendance is marked on the biometric machine, and pay is credited to your bank account.
• Reporting: You report to the Medical Officer of the concerned UPHC or Polyclinic.
• NOC: If you already work in the Health Department, regular or contractual, bring a No Objection Certificate from your appointing authority, issued after this advertisement and specific to this post.
• Grace marks: Current OSH&FW Society employees get 1 percent grace marks for each completed term of service, up to 10 percent. One family member of a deceased Society employee can claim the same benefit.
• Panel: Candidates scoring 50 percent or more in the final merit list go on a panel valid for one year, which can also fill similar NHM/NUHM posts.
• Past disengagement: Anyone earlier disengaged from OSH&FW Society, ZSS Ganjam or CHS Brahmapur on administrative grounds cannot apply.

Report for the walk-in interview at 11:00 AM at the OSWAN Conference Hall, Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC), Brahmapur. Late arrivals are disqualified automatically.
