SMFCL Head of Internal Audit Recruitment 2026: Overview

Sagarmala Finance Corporation Limited (SMFCL), earlier known as Sagarmala Development Company Limited, is hiring a Head of Internal Audit (HIA) on a contract basis. SMFCL is a Mini Ratna Category-I central public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, and it is registered with the Reserve Bank of India as a Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC).

The corporation funds the maritime sector: coastal connectivity, logistics, modern shipbuilding, vessel purchase and support for coastal communities, including fisheries. SMFCL wants a senior professional to oversee its statutory and regulatory compliance, and this role leads that internal audit work from its New Delhi office.

This is a senior post for seasoned Chartered Accountants and Cost Accountants. If you have spent most of your career in finance, audit, compliance, legal or risk management and you are comfortable reporting straight to the Managing Director, the Audit Committee and the Board, this opening is worth a close look.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract term: The engagement runs for one year at first and can be extended based on your performance and the corporation's needs.
• No permanent claim: The job is purely contractual and does not give you any right to regular or permanent employment in SMFCL.
• Leave: You follow SMFCL's holiday calendar for gazetted holidays and get one casual leave each month.
• Exit: Either side can end the contract by giving one month's notice.
• Pay negotiation: The monthly pay quoted in the notice can be negotiated based on your qualifications and experience.
• Wrong information: If any detail you give turns out to be false or hidden, your candidature is cancelled; if this comes to light after you join, your services can be ended without notice.
• Criteria may change: SMFCL can relax or raise the experience, qualification and other criteria, and it can cancel or change the process without giving a reason.
• Your own equipment: You need a valid email ID, a contact number and a laptop and mobile phone with internet.
• Legal matters: Any dispute falls under the courts at New Delhi.
