AGCL ITI Trainee Recruitment 2026: Overview

Assam Gas Company Limited (AGCL), the natural gas company owned by the Government of Assam and based in Duliajan, Dibrugarh, is running a special recruitment drive for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates to engage ITI Trainees. These are reserved openings, so only ST candidates who live in Assam can take part. You start as a trainee on a monthly stipend, and the company considers you for a regular post once you finish the training well.

The drive is meant for young technicians with an ITI in the Fitter or Diesel Mechanic trade. After selection you may be sent to any operational area of AGCL, which runs gas pipelines across several districts of Upper Assam.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• ST candidates only: The posts are reserved for Scheduled Tribe candidates who are domiciled in Assam. You need a valid ST certificate in the Government of Assam format, issued by the competent authority.
• Employment exchange: You must be registered with an employment exchange in Assam and hold a valid registration card from the state's employment exchange portal.
• Training period: You join as a trainee for 12 months. If your work is not satisfactory, the training is stretched by 3 more months; if it is still unsatisfactory after that, the engagement ends.
• Regularisation: A regular post is considered only after successful training, document checks, character verification and good performance. Being selected does not give you an automatic right to a regular job.
• Medical check: Selected candidates must pass a Pre-Employment Medical Examination at the AGC Medical Centre, Duliajan.
• Proof of age: Only the Class 10 admit card or Aadhaar card is accepted as proof of date of birth.
• Working in a government job or PSU: You must send a No Objection Certificate from your current employer, or your application will not be considered.
• Number of posts: The number of vacancies may change at the time of engagement, depending on the company's needs.
• Travel and stay: You arrange your own lodging and boarding for every stage of selection.
