GAIL Part-Time Medical Consultant Recruitment 2026: Overview

GAIL (India) Limited, the Maharatna public sector company behind much of India's natural gas network, needs a Part-Time Medical Consultant for its Kolkata Zonal Office. This is not a full-time hospital job. You visit GAIL's Kolkata offices for a short consultation slot every fortnight and are paid for the hours you give. Selection is through a walk-in interview at the Camac Street office, so there is no online form. It suits a practising doctor based in Kolkata who can spare a few hours a month.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Where you will consult: for roughly the first eight months, you give one hour every fortnight at the Kolkata Zonal Office, Block-A, 2nd Floor, 22 Camac Street, Kolkata-700016, and one hour every fortnight at the GAIL office in Block-B, 4th Floor, Finance Centre, Action Area-IIB, New Town, Kolkata.
• Office move: after about eight months, both offices shift to NBCC Square, 13th Floor, Unit No. 1301, Action Area-III, New Town, Kolkata-700157. From then on, you give one hour every fortnight at that single office.
• Nature of the engagement: part-time and temporary. The first term is six months, and GAIL may extend it if your work is good, but the total engagement cannot go beyond three years.
• How you are paid: you get a consultation fee for every hour of service, plus a local conveyance charge for travel from your home to the GAIL office, capped at a daily distance. The rates appear in the salary section of this page.
