KRCL JTA Mechanical Recruitment 2026: Overview

Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL), under the Ministry of Railways, is hiring Junior Technical Assistants in Mechanical for its Mechanical / Project Department. This is a fixed-term contract engagement linked to the corporation's depot and project needs. The notice names Madgaon, Verna, Tokur, Ratnagiri and Chiplun among the usual depot postings, while allowing assignment to other KRCL projects when needed.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract duration: The role starts with a one-year contract. The post-specific annexure allows a further year according to KRCL's needs; the general conditions also make extension dependent on satisfactory performance and mutual consent.
• Posting and transfer: Your initial depot is not a guaranteed permanent location. KRCL can transfer you to another establishment or project during the contract according to its requirements.
• No regular absorption: These positions are outside the regular establishment. You must give a written undertaking that the contract does not create a claim to permanent employment with KRCL.
• Joining: Selected applicants should be ready to join their assigned site within 30 days of the appointment offer. KRCL considers departures from this requirement individually.
• Agreement and bond: Appointment requires an agreement and an indemnity bond of Rs. 50,000 in KRCL's favour on stamp paper of Rs. 100 or more, as specified in the notice.
• Ending the contract: Either side can end the arrangement with one month's notice or payment in lieu. Breaching the contract or providing false information can also lead to termination.
• Working hours: Follow the hours at your assigned office or project site. Emergency work and extra hours may be needed, without a separate overtime payment.
• Leave: The notice provides 15 days of earned leave after every six months and eight casual-leave days during the contract year. Earned leave can accumulate but cannot be encashed; leave needs prior approval.
• Living arrangements: KRCL does not provide accommodation, food or a mess allowance. Plan your stay and daily arrangements around the assigned work location.
• Staffing changes: KRCL may change the number of appointments or maintain a standby panel for later project requirements. Being on that panel does not itself guarantee an appointment.
• Contract close-out: When the engagement ends, you must return KRCL property and confidential material and settle any outstanding advances or dues.

Application Submission Notes

Attend the walk-in at Staff Club, Konkan Rail Vihar, Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd., near Seawoods Railway Station, Sector-40, Seawoods West, Navi Mumbai. Registration is limited to 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon; use the application format in Annexure A.

You should be ready to stay for at least two days if required, at your own expense. KRCL will not reimburse interview travel, and an incomplete application or unclear certificates can lead to rejection.
