GPSC Multi Post Recruitment 2026: Overview

Gujarat Public Service Commission is accepting applications under advertisements 42/2026-27 to 56/2026-27. Marine and port roles are with Gujarat Maritime Board; other entries cover management, mining, architecture and horticulture. The Board appointments are distinct from Gujarat government service.

Posts and Disciplines

The requirements below belong to individual advertisements. A qualification accepted for one role does not establish eligibility for another. Read the linked detailed document for every certificate, experience and reservation condition.

• Marine Engineer, Class-1 (Advt 42/2026-27): Bachelor degree in Marine or Mechanical Engineering plus Marine Engineer Officer Class-1 competency certificate; at least 5 years after first competency certificate, including 1 year as Chief Engineer/2nd Engineer on a foreign-going ship. Reserved for Specific Learning Disability, 40-100%.
• Engineer Surveyor, Class-1 (Advt 43/2026-27): Bachelor degree in Marine or Mechanical Engineering plus Marine Engineer Officer Class-1 competency certificate; at least 8 years after first competency certificate, including 4 years combined as Chief Engineer/2nd Engineer on a foreign-going ship. Reserved for Low Vision, 40-70%.
• Port Officer (Advt 44/2026-27): Master (FG) Certificate of Competency and Pilot Licence issued by the Government of India, with the prescribed port-pilot, foreign-going master and sea-service experience.
• Assistant Port Officer, Class-2 (Advt 45/2026-27): Postgraduate degree in Business Administration, Science, Commerce or Engineering, or postgraduate diploma in Port Management or Port and Shipping Management from a recognised university or institution, with at least 2 years of the prescribed experience.
• Traffic Officer, Class-2 (Advt 46/2026-27): Postgraduate degree in Business Administration, Science, Commerce or Engineering, or postgraduate diploma in Port Management or Port and Shipping Management from a recognised university or institution, with at least 2 years of the prescribed experience.
• Safety Officer, Class-2 (Advt 47/2026-27): BE/BTech in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering, or BSc in Chemistry or Physics, together with a PG Diploma in Industrial Safety; alternatively, BE/BTech in Fire and Safety or Industrial Safety Engineering, or BSc in Fire & Safety or Occupational Health and Safety. Qualifications must be from a recognized institution or be government-recognized equivalents.
• Dredging cum Marine Engineer, Class-1 (Advt 48/2026-27): Recognized bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, plus a Certificate of Competency as Marine Engineer Officer Class-1 (Steam, Motor, or Combined Steam and Motor) as specified in the notice.
• Port Officer (Advt 49/2026-27): Master (FG) COC and Government of India Pilot Licence; 2 years as port pilot, 1 year as Master on a foreign-going ship, and 5 years of officer sea service after 2nd Mate (FG) COC.
• Pilot Officer (Advt 50/2026-27): Master (FG) COC; 1 year as Master on a foreign-going ship and 5 years of officer sea service after 2nd Mate (FG) COC.
• Naval Architect, Class-1 (Advt 51/2026-27): Bachelor degree in Naval Architecture, Naval Architecture and Ship Building, or Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, with 7 years of the prescribed experience.
• Assistant Port Officer, Class-2: General 4, EWS 1, SEBC 1, ST 1; includes 1 General woman (Advt 52/2026-27): Postgraduate degree in Business Administration, Science, Commerce or Engineering, or postgraduate diploma in Port Management or Port and Shipping Management, with the prescribed experience.
• Manager Grade I, General State Service, Class II (Advt 53/2026-27): Recognised degree in Hotel Management and Catering, or diploma in Hotel Management and/or Catering Technology, or government-recognised equivalent; about 2 years of prescribed experience.
• Assistant Director FS Class 1 (Advt 54/2026-27): Postgraduate degree in Geology/Applied Geology or bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering/Technology with at least 55% marks; about 5 years of prescribed experience.
• Junior Architect, General State Service, Class II (Advt 55/2026-27): Recognised Architecture degree or accepted equivalent, or recognised 5-year Architecture diploma; about 3 years of prescribed post-qualification experience and Council of Architecture registration.
• Joint Director (Advt 56/2026-27): PhD in Horticulture with about 5 years relevant experience, or second-class postgraduate degree in Horticulture with about 8 years relevant experience.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Disability special drive: Advertisements 42-47 and 53-56 have specific disability reservations. Other advertisements have separate category and disability-suitability rules. Do not assume the same categories apply across every row.
• Separate applications: Complete One Time Registration on GPSC OJAS, then submit and confirm the application for each advertisement you choose. Registration by itself is insufficient.
• Corrections: Edit the existing application within its open window. If multiple forms are submitted for one advertisement, the commission applies its rule for the latest confirmed application and applicable fee.
• Age, pay and experience: These differ between advertisements. Use the detailed notice for your role; no common maximum age or salary is asserted for this mixed recruitment.
• Scrutiny: Follow the later upload instructions when called. A postal or email submission does not replace an online application or required document upload.
• Further announcements: Vacancies may change. GPSC may issue examination-consent and deposit instructions separately; check official updates before the examination.
