AIR Gujarat Part-Time Correspondent Recruitment 2026: Overview
Prasar Bharati - Regional News Unit, Akashvani Ahmedabad is engaging Part-Time Correspondents (PTCs) for Vadodara, Narmada, Dahod, Navsari, Patan and Banaskantha districts in Gujarat. This is a district-based engagement on a contractual retainer arrangement, administered by the Ahmedabad news unit. Your application must identify the district for which you want to be considered.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Initial term: the engagement starts with a three-month contract. It can move to annual renewal when your performance is satisfactory and you meet the applicable PTC guidelines.
- Regular employment: this part-time engagement creates no right or claim to a regular appointment in Prasar Bharati. Keep that condition in mind when considering the offer.
- Performance-linked payment: the regional news unit's head must certify satisfactory work for payment under the approved retainer arrangements. The applicable rates follow the broadcaster's guidelines and decisions of the competent authority.
- Travel costs: no travelling or daily allowance is payable for attending the interview. You will need to arrange that journey yourself if called.
- Governing terms: the engagement follows Prasar Bharati and Akashvani's News Services Division rules, including later amendments. The competent authority has the final say on suitability, selection and appointment.
- Changes to the process: RNU Ahmedabad may modify or cancel recruitment under the applicable rules. An application does not by itself assure an engagement.
- Language of the guidelines: the Gujarati advertisement and form help applicants understand the process. If a dispute arises, the original English PTC guidelines take precedence.

The envelope must clearly state that it is an application for engagement as a Part-Time Correspondent (PTC) for your named district, following the wording in the notice.
The receipt deadline matters: late or incomplete applications will not be accepted, so allow time for postal delivery. The application form accompanies the notification, and the notice points to the News Services Division website for the form and related PTC guidelines.
