Indian Institute of Technology Bhilai (IIT Bhilai) is hiring Project Staff for a corporate social responsibility (CSR) funded project covering field implementation, administration and technical monitoring. The project brings together civil works, community coordination and agricultural activities under Dr. Jose Immanuel R. of the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

Your main reporting base will be IIT Bhilai, with extensive travel to Rajnandgaon, Mohla-Manpur and nearby areas in Chhattisgarh. The engagement is tied to the project, and the work connects campus reporting with activities at the project sites.

Posts and Disciplines

• Project Staff (Civil): This role covers the physical preparation of project sites and their water infrastructure.
• Project Staff (General Admin): This role connects the project team with local institutions, contractors and communities.
• Project Staff (Agriculture): This role focuses on nursery work, planting and the care of saplings at project sites.

Post-wise Duties

Project Staff (Civil)

You will handle site preparation and fencing, along with planning water infrastructure. The notice specifically identifies borewells and drip systems as part of this work.

Project Staff (General Admin)

You will coordinate with Gram Panchayats and local contractors. You will also monitor field progress and help bring communities into project activities.

Project Staff (Agriculture)

You will supervise nursery development, high-density planting and grafting. Your work also includes tracking sapling survival and managing nutrients.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial tenure: The appointment lasts up to one year. An extension depends on project needs, available funds and your performance.
• Travel: Plan for extensive travel within the named project districts and adjoining areas, alongside reporting at IIT Bhilai.
• Joining: You must be ready to start work immediately after receiving the offer.
• Ending the appointment: Either side can end the engagement before its tenure finishes by giving 30 days' notice.
• Project rules: Institute and funding-agency conditions applicable to this project govern the appointment. The selection committee's decision is final.
