IISER Tirupati PDRF Mathematics Recruitment 2026

IISER Tirupati PDRF Mathematics Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Tirupati (IISER Tirupati) is recruiting Post-Doctoral Research Fellows (PDRFs) for its Department of Mathematics. The institute is an autonomous institution of national importance under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. Its post-doctoral programme supports research in frontier areas of science and technology, with this notice focused on mathematics.

The central feature of this fellowship is the link with a faculty mentor and a specific research group. Before applying, you are expected to contact faculty working in the advertised areas and identify a research project with a mentor who can host your fellowship. This makes the proposed research and the support available for it an important part of your application.

Posts and Disciplines

• Partial Differential Equations: a research area included in this Mathematics fellowship call.
• Numerical Partial Differential Equations: a separate research focus named in the same programme.
• Mathematical Modelling: work using partial differential equations and stochastic models.
• Stochastic Optimization: the advertised focus is its application to climate risk.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial tenure: The fellowship starts with a one-year appointment. An extension for one further year depends on a review of your performance.
• Research association: You will join a specific research group according to the research, facilities and mentorship needed for your work.
• Academic involvement: The programme also expects fellows to assist faculty with undergraduate teaching.
• Research support: Nominal research grants are available under the programme.
