UOC Technical Assistant Life Sciences Recruitment 2026: Overview
University of Calicut (UOC) is recruiting a Technical Assistant on contract for its Department of Life Sciences in Kerala. This is a first NCA recruitment following an unfilled community-reserved opening in an earlier recruitment. The university has issued an erratum to correct the qualification wording, so you should use the corrected notice when checking your suitability.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Community restriction: This recruitment is only for the E/T/B category. The notice explains that the earlier recruitment did not produce a candidate from the community for the earmarked opening.
- Reason for the fresh notice: The opening remained unfilled from the university's earlier ranked list because suitable candidates from the specified community were unavailable. The current notice addresses that unfilled opening.
- Ranked-list validity: The new list will remain valid until the reserved opening is filled or the earlier ranked list expires, whichever happens first. It does not receive an independent validity period beyond that earlier list.
- Nature of appointment: The university describes the engagement as contractual. Keep that service arrangement in mind when considering this department-based technical role.

You should report at 9.00 AM at the university's Administration Block for the walk-in. The interview is scheduled for 10.30 AM in the Syndicate Conference Hall, Administrative Block, University of Calicut.
Corrigenda and Notices
- Erratum dated 10 September 2026: The university corrected an unintended error in the qualification section of its notice dated 8 September 2026. The earlier notice changes only to the extent stated in this erratum.
