UIDAI is hiring 2 Director (Technology) officers on deputation basis at its Technology Centre in Bengaluru. Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) Director (Technology) Recruitment 2026 - 2 Posts

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has released a circular for filling 2 Director (Technology) posts at its Technology Centre in Bengaluru, on deputation (Foreign Service) basis. UIDAI is the central government body established under the Aadhaar Act, 2016 to issue Aadhaar numbers and manage authentication systems used by over a billion residents across the country. This is a deputation-only opportunity — private candidates cannot apply, and only serving officers from the Central Government, State/UT Government, PSUs, or Autonomous Bodies are eligible. Officers with hands-on experience in large IT projects, data centres, or telecom networks are especially encouraged to apply.

The Technology Centre in Bengaluru is where UIDAI runs its core Aadhaar authentication and de-duplication systems, so this role sits at the heart of one of the world's largest digital identity platforms. If your current organisation has a different pay structure than the Central Government, UIDAI has also worked out equivalent pay grades for PSUs, Public Sector Banks, and LIC so you can check your eligibility even if you are not a direct Central Government employee — for instance, Level 13 in UIDAI is treated as equivalent to Scale-VI (Rs. 1,40,500 - 1,56,500) in Public Sector Banks and E-7 grade (Rs. 1,00,000 - 2,60,000) in PSUs.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need a four-year degree in Engineering or Technology, or a Master's degree in Computer Application, from an institute recognized by government agencies.
• Government Experience (Central): Officers from the Central Government holding an equivalent post on regular basis, or with 3 years of regular service at Pay Level 12 (Rs. 78,800 - 2,09,200) or above.
• Government Experience (State/PSU): Officers from a State or UT Government, Public Sector Undertaking, or Autonomous Organisation holding a regular post in the corresponding grade with requisite experience.
• Desirable: Experience in monitoring and implementing large-scale projects with multiple ecosystem partners, IT/Telecom/Networking/Data Centre operations, or IT procurement and inventory management.
• Only officers who have completed at least 5 years of government service can apply — private candidates are not eligible for this deputation post.

Age Limit

• You should be below 56 years of age as on the closing date for the application (eligibility checked as on 13 May 2026).

Salary

• Selected officers will get a salary of Rs. 1,23,100 to Rs. 2,15,900 per month under Pay Level 13 of the 7th Central Pay Commission.
• You will also get DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as per the UIDAI (Salary, Allowances and other Terms and Conditions of Service of Employees) Regulations, 2020.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Since this is a deputation appointment, there is no written exam. Selection happens through:

1. Document Screening: UIDAI checks your qualification, experience, and eligibility against the circular requirements.
2. Forwarding through Proper Channel: Your parent department must forward your application with cadre clearance, vigilance clearance, and APARs of the last 5 years.
3. Preference Check: Officers already holding an analogous post in UIDAI's parent organisation structure may get preference, and once you apply you cannot withdraw your candidature later.
4. Deputation Appointment: Selected officers are appointed on deputation for an initial period of 5 years (minimum 3 years), with pay, allowances and leave governed by UIDAI's deputation rules and DoPT guidelines.

As a Director-level officer at UIDAI, you will also get a staff vehicle facility for commuting, and you can continue availing Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) benefits from your parent organisation, or switch to UIDAI's own Medical Reimbursement Scheme.
