TISS Medical Officer (Full Time, Non-Residential) Recruitment 2026: Overview
Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) is recruiting a Medical Officer (Full Time, Non-Residential) on contract for its Health Centre in Mumbai. TISS is a deemed university and a grant-in-aid institute under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. This is a full-time, non-residential engagement centred on the Health Centre's outpatient service.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Working arrangement: The notice describes a full-time, non-residential appointment. Your outpatient department (OPD) schedule covers 8 hours a day on 6 days each week, so consider the regular weekly commitment before applying for this Health Centre role.
- Contract period: The appointment runs for no more than one year or until the post is filled, whichever comes first. An extension depends on satisfactory performance and the institute's requirement, so you should not treat renewal as automatic.
- Reservation: The advertised post is unreserved. You can still apply if you belong to a reserved category, as the notice expressly allows applications from those categories.
- Travel costs: TISS will not pay travel or daily allowances for attending the interview. You will need to make your own arrangements for attending in Mumbai.
- Joining: If selected, you must be ready to join within 15 days of selection. Keep this joining requirement in mind if you need to arrange release from your present employment.
- Recruitment correspondence: TISS will not handle queries about interview call letters or selection. Canvassing can remove you from consideration, so avoid attempts to influence the recruitment decision.
- Corrections: If an error comes to light, TISS may change, withdraw or cancel recruitment communications, including after an appointment order has been issued.
