Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) is hiring an Assistant Professor in Sociology for the Centre for Undergraduate Studies at its Guwahati Campus. Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract term: The initial appointment runs until 31 March 2027. Any extension depends on your performance and the Institute's continuing need; it does not create a claim to a regular position.
• Place of work: The position is based at the TISS Guwahati Campus in Assam, so you should be ready to teach and participate in campus activities there.
• Academic setting: Your work may include undergraduate teaching, student mentoring, curriculum inputs, research and field-linked academic activity across the Centre and Institute.
• Joining expectation: The selected scholar may need to join within 10 to 15 days of selection, so candidates serving elsewhere should plan their release arrangements early.
• Interview travel: TISS will not pay TA or DA for attending the selection interaction at Guwahati.
• Institutional discretion: TISS may decide not to fill the position, may relax stated conditions for a strong comparable profile, or may correct and withdraw recruitment communication if an error is found.
