Service Conditions and Caveats

• Team fit: Southern Railway will consider sportspersons who fit its teams. If it cannot find a suitable player for a particular position, it will not fill that position with someone suited to another one.
• Appointment allocation: The administration decides your final pay group and posting when offering appointment, considering available posts, education, sporting achievements and recruitment performance.
• Unfilled posts: The higher advertised group can be downgraded within the same discipline when suitable applicants are unavailable.
• Community reservation: No post is exclusively reserved for a particular community.
• Service commitment: Appointed sportspersons must sign a five-year service bond.
• Probation: The initial period is two years. Unsatisfactory sporting performance can extend it by up to two more years; continued poor performance can lead to termination.
• Lower-group applications: If you apply below the group supported by your achievements, you must accept that appointment without later claiming a higher group based on achievements gained before joining.
• Travel arrangements: You pay for your travel and stay for trials and document checking. Be ready to attend at short notice; requests to change the venue or schedule will not be accepted.
