SAIL ISP Advisor and Consultant Recruitment 2026: Overview

Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) is engaging Advisors and Consultants for IISCO Steel Plant (ISP) at Burnpur, West Bengal. The assignments bring former SAIL executives into plant expansion, production support and financial planning. This is a contractual engagement, with work divided between the Projects and Works functions.

Posts and Disciplines

• Projects Civil: civil works across expansion packages.
• Projects Safety: safety support at project sites.
• Projects Hot Strip Mill: mill and furnace project execution.
• Projects Electrical: automation and power distribution packages.
• Projects Finance and Taxation: project accounts, taxes and foreign payments.
• Finance: plant budgeting, cost analysis and financial planning.
• Works Safety: process and contractor safety systems.
• Works Power and Blowing Station: boiler reliability and power equipment support.
• Works Wire Rod Mill: rolling performance and productivity.
• Works USM: structural and section mill operations.
• Works Energy Management: plant gas distribution and use.

Post-wise Duties

Projects Civil

You will help coordinate and supervise civil works across mill, steelmaking and coke-oven packages.

Projects Safety

You will monitor site safety across the assigned project areas.

Projects Hot Strip Mill

You will support site coordination and supervision for hot strip mill and furnace works.

Projects Electrical

You will coordinate automation and power distribution work across expansion packages.

Projects Finance and Taxation

You will help resolve project finance and taxation issues as the work moves forward.

Finance

You will analyse costs and budgets, support cost audits and help move cost-sheet preparation to SAP. Your advice will support resource use and product-mix planning.

Works Safety

You will strengthen process and contractor safety systems and guide the younger safety team.

Works Power and Blowing Station

You will support boiler reliability and help the plant make better use of its power equipment.

Works Wire Rod Mill

You will help standardise rolling parameters to improve productivity, roller-guide life and mill yield.

Works USM

You will improve rolling availability through operational and maintenance advice, while helping develop roll-assembly expertise.

Works Energy Management

You will support better gas distribution, reduce flaring and advise on gas-booster use.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The first engagement lasts six months. Extensions need approval, first for another six months and then potentially for a further year.
• Future engagement: A former adviser who completes the maximum tenure needs a cooling-off period of at least one month before another engagement.
• Employment status: The contract gives no right to regular appointment. Provident fund and gratuity are not payable under this engagement.
• Other assignments: SAIL may use your services at another plant or unit with your express consent. Travel away from headquarters must be planned with the nodal officer.
• Confidentiality: Protect company information during and after your engagement. Work for competing firms or organisations with SAIL business links is restricted during the contract.
• Ending the contract: Either side may give 15 days' notice. SAIL can end it without notice for misconduct or unsatisfactory performance.
