Panjab University, Chandigarh is hiring Project Fellows under the RUSA 2.0 scheme across five thrust areas. If you are an already-enrolled Ph.D. student of Panjab University with a master's degree, you can walk in for the interview directly. Interviews are held between 27 and 29 August 2026 at the Department of Chemistry. The fellowship pays a consolidated Rs. 25,000 per month.

Panjab University (PU) Chandigarh Project Fellow Recruitment 2026 - RUSA 2.0

Panjab University, Chandigarh has released a notice inviting its already-enrolled Ph.D. students to walk in for interviews for the position of Project Fellow under the RUSA 2.0 scheme. The scheme covers five thrust areas — Social Sciences and applied fields, Physical Sciences, Biological Sciences (Life Sciences), Engineering Sciences, and Chemical Sciences — across various departments of the university. Only Ph.D. students already enrolled at Panjab University are eligible — this is not open to external candidates.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Master's degree with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates)
• Eligibility: You must already be enrolled as a Ph.D. student at Panjab University, Chandigarh
• Preference: Candidates with experience in the relevant research area, patents, or industrial research experience get preference
• Note: You must work full-time on the project and can draw a fellowship from only one source

Age Limit

• The upper age limit for applicants is 40 years.

Salary

• Selected candidates get a consolidated fellowship of Rs. 25,000 per month.
• The fellowship is offered initially until the end of September 2026 and can be extended based on your performance and fund availability under the RUSA 2.0 scheme.
• No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview. The essential qualifications listed are the bare minimum — you must show documentary evidence of all your qualifications at the time of the interview.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is done in a single stage:

1. Walk-in Interview: Your application, CV, publications, and research proposal are reviewed, followed by a personal interview at the venue for your thrust area.

How to Apply

1. Prepare six (6) hard copies of your application form.
2. Attach your educational qualification documents, list of publications, and detailed CV.
3. Prepare a brief research proposal of about 1,500 words.
4. Email all the above documents to the RUSA 2.0 coordinator, Panjab University, clearly mentioning the post you are applying for in the subject line.
5. Walk in directly with your hard copies to the interview venue for your thrust area on the scheduled date (see Important Dates below).

• Work full-time on the assigned RUSA 2.0 research project
• Carry out research activities under the guidance of the project mentor
• Prepare research documentation, data records, and progress reports
• Assist in publishing research findings and papers
• Support the department in project-related academic activities
• Follow the research proposal and work methodology submitted at the time of interview
• Coordinate with the RUSA 2.0 project coordinator on funding and timelines
