NTPC Limited, the Government of India enterprise that is the country's largest power producer with an installed capacity of about 90 GW, is running a special recruitment drive for Scheduled Tribe candidates under advertisement number Kudgi: 02/2026. The opening is a backlog post of Diploma Trainee in the Control and Instrumentation discipline at the Kudgi Super Thermal Power Station in Karnataka, the coal-fired station the company runs in the Bijapur belt. Service Conditions and Caveats

• Training first: you train for two years at any NTPC site or station, not necessarily at Kudgi, and you draw a consolidated stipend through that period.
• Then absorption: finish the training successfully and you are absorbed in the open pay scale of the W7 grade — the trainee slot is an entry route into a regular post, not a short engagement.
• Service bond: selected candidates sign a service agreement bond of Rs. 50,000 plus GST and serve the company for a minimum of three years after the training ends.
• Test centres: the online tests are held at Hyderabad and Bangalore, and NTPC can shift the centre to a third city depending on how many people apply. No TA or DA is paid for either stage of the test.
• Health: before joining you go through the NTPC Medical Board, whose decision is final and binding — the company allows no relaxation in its medical norms.
• Already working somewhere: candidates in government service, a public sector enterprise or an autonomous body must produce a No Objection Certificate before the second stage test, and without it they are not allowed to sit for it.
• Certificates at the test: the Scheduled Tribe certificate — and the ex-servicemen, PwBD or Jammu and Kashmir domicile certificate if you claim one — must be in the prescribed Government of India format and produced at the second stage test. The category you fill in the online form cannot be changed later.
• The drive can change: NTPC keeps the right to cancel, restrict, curtail or enlarge this recruitment without notice, and any dispute goes only to the courts in the Bijapur district of Karnataka.
