Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL), a railway public-sector undertaking under the Ministry of Railways, is hiring a Senior Technical Assistant for its Signal and Telecommunication Department. This is a fixed-term project appointment, initially for one year, supporting S&T work within KRCL's jurisdiction. The role combines field supervision with technical and contract records, making it suitable for engineers who already understand live railway, metro or comparable S&T systems.

The assignment is tied to KRCL project requirements rather than its regular establishment. You may work across project sites, respond to equipment failures and help supervisors keep signalling and telecom work on schedule. The current engagement excludes the USBRL Project, but KRCL can move selected staff between its other project locations as work needs change.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial tenure: The contract starts for one year and may be extended when performance, mutual consent and KRCL's project need support it.
• Transfer liability: You can be posted or transferred to any KRCL project site covered by this engagement.
• No regular absorption: These are not regular-establishment posts, and the agreement does not create a claim to permanent KRCL service.
• Work hours: Project emergencies may need extra hours, but the fixed monthly package covers that work and no separate overtime is payable.
• Leave: The contract provides 15 days of earned leave after 6 months and 8 days of casual leave during the contract year; earned leave cannot be encashed.
• Agreement: Selected candidates sign the contract and an indemnity bond before joining, and either side generally uses one month's notice or pay in lieu to end it early.
• Medical fitness: Final engagement depends on passing KRCL's prescribed medical examination.
• Practical arrangements: KRCL does not provide accommodation or food, and applicants should be ready to stay for at least 2 days if the interview process requires it.

This is a walk-in recruitment at the Executive Club, Konkan Rail Vihar, near Seawoods Railway Station, Sector-40, Seawoods West, Navi Mumbai. Registration at the venue is open from 09:00 hrs to 12:00 hrs. Bring the prescribed Annexure-A application, the originals and self-attested supporting copies; incomplete forms or unclear certificates can be rejected during preliminary screening.

Only applicants who clear that screening move to the selection interaction. KRCL may add a group discussion or another elimination round if attendance is high, so plan your travel with enough time. No train fare, bus fare or TA/DA is paid for attending.

• Assist supervisors with daily Signal and Telecommunication work
• Inspect and maintain signalling and telecommunication equipment
• Attend S&T failures and help restore equipment promptly
• Supervise signal foundations, cable laying, location boxes and installation work
• Check indoor, outdoor and automatic-signalling work against approved drawings
• Keep site correspondence, technical records, reports and returns organised
• Monitor construction quality, progress, safety and third-party inspection work
• Prepare or check monthly contract bills and related deliverables
