KGMU is hiring 8 Medical Officers on deputation basis across three categories at its campus in Lucknow. King George's Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow is one of Uttar Pradesh's oldest and largest state medical universities, running a large network of hospitals and OPDs. It has invited applications for 8 Medical Officer (non-teaching) posts to be filled through deputation. The vacancies are spread across three categories — Medical Officer of Health, Lady Medical Officer, and Casualty Medical Officer — all at Pay Level 10. Only officers already serving with a State Government, Government of India, State statutory body, or an autonomous body/university can apply — private candidates and employees of private organisations are not eligible. Each selected officer will be appointed for a fixed deputation period of 3 years, and pay/allowances during this period will be governed by UP Government deputation rules.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: MBBS degree, along with a regular post held in a State Government, Government of India, State statutory body, Autonomous Body, or University, on an analogous post.
• Experience: At least 5 years of continuous and satisfactory service on a substantive post in your parent department.
• Language: You should have excellent proficiency in speaking and writing both Hindi and English, along with an aptitude for medical service work.
• Not Eligible: Contract employees, employees of private institutions, and officers whose current grade pay is higher than what is prescribed for this post.
• Officers facing pending disciplinary, departmental, or vigilance proceedings, or with a case pending in court, are also not eligible to apply.

Officers already on deputation elsewhere should get their application forwarded by their parent cadre, along with cadre clearance and vigilance clearance. At the time of interview, you will also need to submit a No Objection Certificate from your deputing authority.

Age Limit

• You must have at least 5 years of service remaining before superannuation (retirement), as on 20 July 2026. Officers with less than 5 years of residual service cannot apply.
• There is no separate upper age limit mentioned for this post beyond the residual-service condition above, since this is a deputation appointment and not a fresh, direct recruitment.

Salary

• Selected officers will get a salary of Rs. 56,100 to Rs. 1,77,500 per month under Pay Level 10 of the 7th Central Pay Commission.
• Pay will be fixed as per Uttar Pradesh government deputation rules, along with allowances as applicable.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written exam for this deputation recruitment. Selection happens through:

1. Document Screening: KGMU checks your qualification, experience, and eligibility documents submitted with the application.
2. No Objection Certificate: Your parent department must submit a signed No Objection Certificate (Annexure II) confirming there is no vigilance or disciplinary case pending against you.
3. Interview: Shortlisted officers are called for an interview — the date, time, and venue will be communicated separately.
4. Deputation Appointment: Selected officers are appointed on deputation for a fixed period of 3 years.

• Provide medical care and treatment to patients across OPD, wards, and casualty
• Handle emergency cases and casualty duty on a rotational basis
• Maintain patient records, prescriptions, and treatment charts accurately
• Coordinate with specialist doctors and nursing staff for patient management
• Conduct routine health checkups and preventive health programs
• Follow hospital protocols, safety guidelines, and medical ethics
• Attend to female patients requiring gynaecological or obstetric care (Lady Medical Officer)
• Prepare medico-legal reports and certificates as required
