Kerala PSC Fire and Rescue Officer Recruitment 2026: Overview

Kerala Public Service Commission (Kerala PSC) is running a first No Candidate Available (NCA) selection for Fire and Rescue Officer (Trainee) in the Fire and Rescue Services department. This drive is limited to the communities named in Category Nos. 139/2026 to 142/2026 because suitable candidates were not available from the earlier mother ranked list. The role leads into frontline fire-service work after academy and station training, so fitness for demanding outdoor duty and confidence in water are central to the appointment.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Community restriction: Only Scheduled Caste Converts to Christianity, Latin Catholic/Anglo Indian, Viswakarma and SIUC Nadar candidates can use this NCA notice. Applications from other communities will be rejected without an individual rejection memo.
• Candidate restriction: The notification states that this selection is for male candidates; women and differently abled candidates cannot apply.
• Ranked-list purpose: Kerala PSC will use the list only to fill the community-specific gaps left unfilled during the life of the mother ranked list.
• Training: Recruits complete academy training followed by practical training at a fire station. Passing the prescribed training examinations is necessary before appointment to service.
• Bond: Appointment carries a seven-year service commitment. A recruit who does not complete it must pay the amount fixed by the Kerala Government.
• Probation: After training and the required examinations, you remain on duty probation within the continuous period set by the service rules.
• Merit weightage: Valid NCC certificates, meritorious sports performance and a Student Police Cadet certificate can add weightage under the cited government orders.
• Home Guard preference: Other things being equal, Home Guard volunteers with the prescribed tenure and satisfactory firefighting training receive preference.
• Test safety: No additional chance is promised if an accident or injury occurs during the physical-efficiency test.

Application Submission Notes

You apply through your Kerala PSC One Time Registration profile and use the Apply Now control attached to the relevant category notification. Check every profile entry before final submission because a submitted application is provisional and cannot later be deleted or altered.

• Profile photograph: A new profile must carry a recent photograph with your name and the date of capture printed clearly below it.
• Confirmation: If Kerala PSC schedules a written, OMR or online test, you must confirm participation through the profile during the announced window to generate an admission ticket.
• Profile messages: Upload proof requested through a Commission message within the stated window; missing that request can stop your progress in the selection.
• Record keeping: Keep a printout or soft copy of the submitted form and quote your User ID in later communication with the Commission.
