Kerala Public Service Commission (Kerala PSC) is conducting a first NCA selection for Assistant Prison Officer in the Prisons and Correctional Services department. The notice is designed to fill a Scheduled Caste Converted to Christianity community gap that remained unfilled during the earlier mother ranked list. This is a statewide uniformed-service role with custodial, security and correctional responsibilities, and the appointment is tied to strict fitness, vision and service-rule conditions.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Community restriction: Only candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste Converted to Christianity community can apply through this NCA notice. Other-community applications will be rejected without a separate rejection memo.
• Candidate restriction: The notification limits this selection to male candidates and says that women and differently abled candidates cannot apply.
• Ranked-list scope: Kerala PSC will keep the new list in force only for advice against the community vacancy that remained unfilled while the mother list was active.
• Probation: A recruit serves on duty probation under the continuous-period rule stated in the notice and must complete the conditions set for confirmation.
• In-service training: You must undergo the training prescribed by the Head of Department during probation and pass the Kerala Jail Subordinate Officer's Test unless you have already cleared it.

• Merit weightage: NCC certificate holders, meritorious sports persons and Student Police Cadet certificate holders may receive the weightage allowed by the cited government orders.

• Medical proof: The prescribed original fitness and eyesight certificate must come from a government medical officer of the required rank and be uploaded to the profile at certificate verification.

• Test confirmation: If the Commission schedules a written, OMR or online test, confirm attendance during the published profile window; only confirmed candidates can generate admission tickets.
• Copies: Keep a printout or soft copy of the online form and quote your User ID in correspondence with Kerala PSC.
• Community record: If your application claim differs from the SSLC entry, be ready to produce the related Gazette notice with the required community proof at verification.
