Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), Bengaluru has released a notification for 6 Group-C posts — 2 First Division Assistants (FDA) and 4 Second Division Assistants (SDA) — under the direct recruitment quota. The exam will be offline (OMR-based) and held in Bengaluru, Dharwad, and Kalaburagi. Fresh graduates and 12th pass candidates from Karnataka can apply for these stable Karnataka State Government jobs.

Who Can Apply?

First Division Assistant (FDA):

• You must have a Degree from a UGC-recognised university (regular, private, or open & distance learning approved by UGC).
• Technical degrees from open & distance learning institutes (not approved by UGC) will not be accepted.

Second Division Assistant (SDA):

• You must have passed PUC (Pre-University Course / 12th) conducted by the Karnataka PU Board.
• CBSE/ICSE Class 12, NIOS Senior Secondary, or equivalent state board 12th pass also accepted.
• 3-year ITI Diploma after SSLC (passed in or after 2015) is also treated as equivalent to PUC.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 40 years old as on the last date of application.
• Age Relaxation:
• Cat 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B candidates: up to 43 years
• SC, ST, Cat-1 candidates: up to 45 years
• Karnataka State / Central Government employees: relaxation of 10 years or actual service period, whichever is less
• Ex-Servicemen: 3 years over and above the service period
• NCC Whole-time Officers: relaxation equal to NCC service period
• Persons with Benchmark Disabilities: 10 years
• Widows, divorced women, women judicially separated and not remarried: 10 years

Salary

• First Division Assistant: Rs. 44,425 - Rs. 83,700 per month (Karnataka State Pay Scale 2024)
• Second Division Assistant: Rs. 34,100 - Rs. 67,700 per month (Karnataka State Pay Scale 2024)
• Plus DA, HRA, and other allowances as per Karnataka Government rules.
• Note: KGID and PF benefits are NOT available; New Pension Scheme (NPS) applies for posts notified after 31 March 2006.

Application Fee

• General / Cat 2A / 2B / 3A / 3B: Rs. 750 (Rs. 500 application + Rs. 250 processing)
• SC / ST / Cat-1 / Ex-Servicemen / Third Gender: Rs. 500 (Rs. 250 application + Rs. 250 processing)
• Persons with Benchmark Disabilities: Rs. 250 (processing fee only)
• Payment mode: Online only
• Fee once paid is non-refundable.

Selection Process

Selection will be done in the following stages:

1. Competitive Written Exam (Offline OMR-based): Will be held at Bengaluru, Dharwad and Kalaburagi centres. Detailed exam pattern will be published on the KEA website later.
2. Kannada Language Test (Qualifying): Candidates who have not studied Kannada as a first or second language in SSLC (or equivalent) must appear for a Kannada Language Test conducted by KEA. Minimum 50 marks out of 150 required to qualify. Marks in the Kannada test will NOT count towards merit.
3. Document Verification

Probation period: 2 years after selection.

How to Apply

2. Click on the recruitment link and register with your basic details (Name, DOB, category, mobile, email).
3. Log in with the credentials received on email.
4. Fill in the online application with the post you want to apply for (FDA or SDA).
5. Upload your photograph, signature, and required documents.
6. Pay the application fee online as per your category.
7. Submit the form and download a copy of the application for your records.

Note: Once submitted, the application cannot be edited. There is no option to modify or change your application later.
