Post-wise Duties

Project Nurse III

You will screen neonates against the study criteria, coordinate informed consent with parents or guardians and maintain case report forms and source records. You will also work with the treating team, monitor follow-up activity and help ensure samples are labelled, stored and moved according to the protocol.

The nursing role also supports adverse-event monitoring and communication between families, clinicians and the research team. Because consent and follow-up happen in the local setting, clear Tamil communication is important alongside accurate English documentation.

Project Technical Support III

You will process human biological specimens such as blood, urine and CSF, and maintain correct labelling, aliquoting and storage conditions. The work includes cold-chain handling, packaging and shipment to partner laboratories, plus routine procedures such as centrifugation, asepsis and sample transfer.

You will keep sample registers, supply logs and electronic entries up to date while following biosafety and Good Clinical Laboratory Practice. Close coordination with the project nurses is needed so samples move from collection to processing without avoidable delay.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project-linked tenure: The appointments are purely contractual and depend on the life and external funding of the research project.
• Extension or curtailment: The project investigator may extend or shorten the engagement according to project needs and performance.
• No regular claim: Working in this project does not give you a right to a regular JIPMER post.
• Relevant experience: Experience is counted after you have obtained the essential qualification and should come from a suitable institution or organisation.
