Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad (IIT Palakkad) has released notification number IITPKD/Admin./Ad-hoc/2026-27/02 for three contract positions under its Industry Consultancy & Sponsored Research (ICSR) cell. These posts help the institute build industry partnerships, manage patents and technology transfer, and handle legal agreements. There is no written exam — selection is based on resume shortlisting followed by an interview or test. The work location is the IIT Palakkad campus in Kerala.

Who Can Apply?

Industry Liaison Officer (Rs. 80,000 - 1,20,000/month)

• Qualification & Experience: Ph.D. with at least 3 years of relevant experience, OR Master's degree in Science / Technology / Management with at least 5 years of relevant experience, OR Bachelor's degree with substantial industry experience (8+ years), preferably in technology-driven roles.
• Desirable: Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; knowledge of academic research environment and intellectual property management.

IP & Technology Transfer Executive (Rs. 50,000 - 60,000/month)

• Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Science / Law with at least 60% marks (or equivalent grade).
• Experience: Minimum 2 years in intellectual property management, patent filing and prosecution, or technology transfer/licensing.
• Desirable: Registered Patent Agent in India / Master's in IP Rights / IPR certification.

Legal and Liaison Executive (Rs. 50,000 - 60,000/month)

• Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Law with at least 60% marks (or equivalent grade).
• Experience: Minimum 2 years in drafting/reviewing contracts and MoUs, legal vetting, compliance work, or industry liaisoning.
• Desirable: Master's degree in Law / experience or certification in IP Law.

You must be a citizen of India.

Age Limit

• Industry Liaison Officer: Maximum 50 years as on the closing date of application.
• IP & Technology Transfer Executive: Maximum 35 years as on the closing date of application.
• Legal and Liaison Executive: Maximum 35 years as on the closing date of application.

Salary

• Industry Liaison Officer: Consolidated monthly pay of Rs. 80,000 to Rs. 1,20,000 (fixed based on your profile).
• IP & Technology Transfer Executive: Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 60,000 per month.
• Legal and Liaison Executive: Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 60,000 per month.
• Housing, HRA, and travelling allowances will not be provided by the Institute.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

1. Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted based on their resume, qualification, and experience.
2. Interview / Test: Shortlisted candidates are called for an interview or test.

• Identify and secure funding from industry, government, and CSR sources, and support faculty in proposal development
• Build and manage partnerships with companies, startups, and R&D organisations for sponsored research and technology transfer
• Maintain and monitor the institute's IP portfolio, including patents, designs, and copyrights
• Conduct prior art searches and patentability assessments for new inventions
• Draft and review MoUs, NDAs, licensing agreements, and technology transfer agreements
• Liaise with patent agents, attorneys, and legal experts for filing IP applications
• Organise workshops, conclaves, and awareness sessions on industry engagement and IP rights
• Ensure legal vetting and compliance of agreements with institutional policies and regulations
