Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT Hyderabad) Post-Doctoral Research Fellow Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

IIT Hyderabad has released a notification for 1 Post-Doctoral Research Fellow (PDF) position at the RMS Lab, working on an ICMR-sponsored research project titled "Autologous islet transplantation in pancreas resection patients with clinical validation." The project is run in collaboration with Osmania Medical College and Hospital and focuses on a patented macroencapsulation device that keeps transplanted islets immune-protected while still allowing them to secrete insulin normally. The device has already worked in rat models and is now being tested with human islet cells as part of a pre-clinical trial pathway. The position is sanctioned for one year and can be extended based on your work progress and further grant approval.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: PhD or Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering or an equivalent Biosciences discipline, with 60% marks or equivalent CGPA.
• Experience: You need at least one year of post-PhD research experience with demonstrable skills in liver/pancreas research, organoid work, or primary cell culture.
• Preferred Skills: Knowledge of primary stem cell isolation combined with transcriptomics or molecular biology, plus 3D spheroid/organoid culture experience.
• Since this is an interdisciplinary project, candidates with strong experience in any one or more of these areas are encouraged to apply.
• Candidates with first-author publications in high-impact-factor journals will get an added advantage.

• You should not be more than 38 years old to apply for this position.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a consolidated monthly stipend of around Rs. 87,000 (HRA included).
• The stipend is fixed under the ICMR-sponsored project as a Project Scientist-II level engagement.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

The selection for this post will be done in 2 stages:
