ICVL MD and CEO Recruitment 2026: Overview
International Coal Ventures Private Limited (ICVL), a Government of India joint venture promoted by SAIL, RINL, NMDC, CIL and NTPC, is choosing a Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer for its Mozambique business. The executive will be stationed in Tete, Mozambique and will report to the ICVL Chairman. This is a board-level leadership assignment built around an operating mine and a portfolio of green-field coal assets, so it calls for more than a purely administrative background.
ICVL's Benga operation already processes run-of-mine coal, while evaluation work continues for the Zambeze and Tete East assets. You will therefore balance current production with the development of future mining projects. Experience across mining, production, maintenance or major projects is especially relevant because the role brings operations, finance, people and government relations under one leader.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Tenure: The initial contractual term is two years and may be extended by one year after a satisfactory performance review and ICVL Board approval. Officers from government and public-sector organisations may join on deputation under the applicable rules.
- Performance review: The ICVL Chairman will appraise the appointed executive's annual performance.
- Notice period: A mandatory notice period applies to both resignation and termination.
- Nationality: Indian and foreign nationals may apply. Only full-time qualifications from recognised institutions are accepted.
- Mozambique readiness: You should check your visa eligibility before applying. If a visa fails for reasons attributable to you, including missing papers or police clearance, the notification allows ICVL to take action under its contractual damages clause.
- Joining: The selected person should be ready to take charge at short notice and must meet the organisation's medical-fitness rules.
- Jurisdiction: Any dispute connected with the recruitment will fall under courts in New Delhi.
