Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE), under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, has issued Advertisement No. VIII/8/2024/CoE/ICFRE dated 02 June 2026. Who Can Apply?

RA-III Ecology & Sustainable Land Management

• Qualification: You need a doctorate degree in Forestry, Ecology, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Restoration Ecology or a related discipline.
• Alternative route: You can also qualify with 5 years research or teaching experience after postgraduation in Forestry, Agriculture, Life Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Desirable experience: Land degradation assessment, sustainable land management, restoration, biodiversity assessment, GIS, remote sensing, LDN, climate or ecosystem restoration projects.

RA-III Web / Knowledge Platform Support

• Qualification: You need a doctorate degree in Computer Science, IT, Web Technologies or a related discipline.
• Alternative route: You can also qualify with 5 years research or teaching experience after postgraduation in Computer Science, IT, Web Technologies or related areas.
• Desirable experience: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, CMS, responsive design, knowledge platforms, environmental or research project portals and data visualisation.

Junior Research Fellow

• Qualification: You need a postgraduate degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, Ecology, Botany, GIS, Information Technology or related disciplines.
• Test requirement: You must have NET (UGC/CSIR/ASRB) or GATE.
• Desirable experience: Field data collection, vegetation or land degradation assessment, GIS and remote sensing, statistics, data management, report writing, workshop support, documentation and project coordination.

Age Limit

• Research Associate-III: Upper age limit is 35 years.
• Junior Research Fellow: Upper age limit is 28 years.
• Age reference date: Age is counted as on 02 June 2026, as stated in the notice.
• Age relaxation: Upper age is relaxable up to 5 years for SC/ST, Women, PH and OBC candidates as per Government of India norms.

Salary

• RA-III (Ecology & Sustainable Land Management): Rs. 67,000 per month plus HRA as per rules.
• RA-III (Web / Knowledge Platform Support): Rs. 67,000 per month plus HRA as per rules.
• Junior Research Fellow: Rs. 37,000 per month plus HRA as per rules.
• Duration: Contract period is 1 year, extendable up to 1 additional year with approval.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)
