ICAR-Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture (ICAR-CIFA) is engaging a Young Professional-II at its Kausalyaganga campus in Bhubaneswar for a specialised CABIN research project. The work examines the reproductive biology and medicinal value of striped murrel through omics methods, with particular attention to important transcripts and their regulatory networks. The institute has specifically highlighted experience in NGS data analysis, database development, advanced bioinformatics and machine learning; pre-PhD coursework is an added advantage, not the core degree requirement.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project tenure: The engagement currently runs up to 31 March 2027 and is likely to continue beyond that point. It remains tied to the project and to the terms stated in the selection offer.
• Temporary status: The engagement ends automatically when the approved period finishes or when the institute communicates an earlier end. It does not create a claim to a regular post in ICAR-CIFA or the Indian Council of Agricultural Research.
• Field mobility: The selected professional may need to work in rural areas and travel extensively when the study needs field support. You should be comfortable combining desk-based analysis with project travel.
• Joining expectation: The selected person may be asked to join immediately, so keep your academic and experience records ready for verification.
• Interview expenses: ICAR-CIFA will not pay TA or DA for attending the walk-in. Plan your travel to the Bhubaneswar campus accordingly.
• Conduct: Canvassing can disqualify an applicant, and the Director may cancel the recruitment process. The decision of the Director, principal investigator or competent authority is final.
• Citizenship: You must be an Indian citizen for this engagement.
