Government Medical College, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad (GMC KB Asifabad) is engaging medical faculty and Senior Residents for the college and its attached Government General Hospital. This is a time-bound arrangement covering clinical, surgical and pre-clinical departments while regular posts are being filled. Posts and Disciplines

• Professor: senior academic leadership roles across broad medical specialties, combining teaching, research oversight and departmental supervision.
• Associate Professor: mid-senior faculty roles supporting postgraduate teaching, clinical work and research activity in the allotted department.
• Assistant Professor: teaching and patient-care roles across medical and surgical specialties; selected non-medical faculty may serve in Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology, Pharmacology or Microbiology.

Post-wise Duties

Professor

You will lead teaching and clinical work in your specialty, guide junior faculty and residents, and oversee departmental academic standards. You will also support research and publication work expected at this rank.

Associate Professor

You will deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, supervise clinical or laboratory work, and help run departmental research and training. Your role also includes mentoring residents and assisting the head of department.

Assistant Professor

You will teach students, support bedside or laboratory instruction and manage the routine academic and service workload of your department. You may also guide residents and take part in institutional research activities.

Senior Resident

You will provide patient care or specialty laboratory support under faculty supervision, take part in duty rosters and assist with clinical teaching and case discussions.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: the engagement runs only up to 31 March 2027, or until the need ends or a regular appointment is made, whichever happens first.
• No regular claim: the contract does not create a right to future government appointment, and it can be ended by the college at any time.
• Registration: non-local appointees must complete Telangana State Medical Council registration within one week of selection for confirmation.
• Existing contract staff: people already working in the same cadre on contract at another Telangana government medical college cannot apply.
• Local preference: local Multi Zone I candidates get first preference for the specified junior faculty cadres; nationwide candidates may be considered when local candidates are unavailable.
• Joining condition: selected faculty must provide a relieving order from their previous institute before joining.
• Leave and notice: contract faculty receive leave under the stated government norms, while a selected faculty member who resigns must give one month notice.
