Post-wise Duties

Full Time Specialists

You work the hospital’s specialist duty schedule: 9 AM to 4 PM on weekdays and 9 AM to 1 PM on Saturdays. You must also stay available on call and attend emergency visits when needed.

Senior Residents

You work rotational duties under residency norms, with round-the-clock availability as required by the Medical Superintendent. The hospital can assign emergency, floor and other departmental clinical duties.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Specialist tenure: The initial contract is for one year, with renewal linked to satisfactory performance. It may end earlier when a regular appointee joins.
• Resident tenure: Engagement under the Central Residency Scheme can continue for up to three years, with annual performance review. It cannot be extended beyond that limit.
• Contract status: Appointment gives no right or preference for regular recruitment. Private practice is prohibited, and the hospital does not provide hostel accommodation or quarters.
• Ending the agreement: Either side may end the contract with one month’s written notice. If you resign immediately, you must deposit an amount equal to one month’s pay.
• Agreement and insurance: You may need to sign a contract on bond paper at your own cost. Selected specialists must arrange professional indemnity cover as prescribed and provide proof within seven days of engagement.
• Joining: You must join promptly after receiving the offer. Failure to report within the stated joining period cancels the appointment.
• Recruitment changes: The Medical Superintendent may change the available posts, alter the interview date or cancel the interview. No travel or daily allowance is paid for attending.
